Here she is, blew in last week during the gale. Winds so strong it blew bricks out of our neighbor's chimney, blew best-laid plans of woman and man totally out the window--there is a message there, seems like, and hence a messenger. hmmmmm
Not Catnip
Ah spring is here, and the bad frosts of April delayed our Herb of the Day until now. But the wait was worth it. What is that herb? The worthy ASPARAGUS!! dontcha know. We have a fine tom cat who was pacing and salivating as it was steaming in the pan tonight. Last time we had it, I left some to cool on the cabinet and he jumped up and mowed it -- about 6 stalks. Couldn't believe it. So now he gets a stalk to eat along with us for supper.
FLAX
Welcome. When I get may hands on the trusty Kodak, will show a picture of our blooming flax (linum usitatissimum). Blossoms are about the color of these letters. Wonderful plant--from which comes linen, linseed oil (aka flaxseed oil). mmmmmm I would love to see some of those fields in the Dakotas when its in full bloom.... It grows well down here in Ks. and Mo too.
